Head – Admin, Finance and Trust

Nagaveni joined CMCA in 2004 as a Program Associate, starting with volunteer work at a government school. She has since taken on key responsibilities in Admin & Finance, where she’s been a dependable team member for almost a decade, handling the essential administrative and financial tasks that help CMCA’s programs run smoothly.

Outside of work, Nagaveni enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and traveling.

Head – Programs

Naren leads the Magic Box, HCAP, and Odisha Programs at CMCA, bringing a wealth of experience from his 26 years in the Indian Navy. Since his transition from the Navy, he’s worked with organizations like Genworks Healthcare, Pearson India, and Edunation Services, focusing on creating smoother operations and managing people effectively.

At CMCA, Naren loves being part of programs that encourage active citizenship and enjoys connecting with people. In his free time, he’s often found singing, exploring new places, watching plays, or meeting new faces.

Assistant Manager, Content & Training

Anila currently plays a vital role at CMCA, where she goes beyond traditional classroom teaching. She travels widely to ensure that educational programs meet their standards and conducts workshops for school principals, directors, and parents to support their involvement in these initiatives.

Before joining CMCA, Anila worked as a Trainer and Quality Manager at Mind Edutainment in Bengaluru, where she led educational sessions for students from 3rd to 12th grade. Outside of work, she loves exploring new places and watching movies.

Assistant Manager, Content, Training and MEL

Ashwini has spent the last six years at CMCA creating content and training educators. Her work across various programs for children of different ages has given her valuable experiences and kept her engaged with the organization’s growth.

Outside of work, Ashwini loves cooking and exploring new topics. She has a keen interest in psychology, brain development, and human nature, which enriches her personal and professional life.

Assistant Manager, Resource Mobilisation, Mumbai

Preeta currently leads the CSR vertical in Resource Mobilisation at CMCA, where she works on managing and engaging donors. She began her journey with CMCA as a volunteer in Mumbai and eventually transitioned into a full-time role in Resource Mobilisation.

Before joining CMCA, Preeta spent 18 years in the IT industry, working in various roles like Software Engineer and Project Manager, including positions in the UK and USA. Outside of work, she loves singing and running marathons and is actively involved in community projects.

Manager Training, Mysuru

Savitha leads training for CMCA programs, focusing on designing materials, mentoring, and building team capacity. She initially joined CMCA as the Program Lead for Mysuru. Previously, she worked as a District Manager for Social Mobilization under the Sanjeevini-KSRLM in Mysore and was a School Leadership Development Facilitator with the Azim Premji Foundation’s project with V-Lead. She also has experience as a faculty member and student counselor at nursing colleges and is a certified trainer with NACO and NIRD.

Beyond work, Savitha enjoys terrace gardening, singing, and trying new recipes. Her love for teaching and community work aligns well with her role at CMCA, where she’s passionate about empowering others and sharing her knowledge.

Senior Associate, Employee Engagement and CSR, Resource Mobilisation, Bengaluru

Vengadamala is dedicated to enhancing employee engagement at CMCA and finding meaningful CSR opportunities that support the organization’s mission. With a background in fundraising, she brings experience from her previous role at the Association for Sustainable Community Development in Chengalpattu, where she focused on resource mobilization for sustainable projects.

At CMCA, Vengadamala enjoys the chance to create positive connections and develop impactful programs. Outside of work, she loves exploring her creative side through arts, dance, and travel.

Vidya’s journey with CMCA started as an educator before she transitioned into a full-time role, where she is now dedicated to establishing new corporate partnerships and managing employee engagement initiatives. Her passion for fostering meaningful connections drives her work, as she strives to create impactful collaborations that benefit both the organization and the communities it serves.

She holds an MBA in advertising and business administration and has experience in advertising, banking, and the NGO sectors. This diverse background has helped her develop valuable skills that she applies at CMCA. Additionally, her role as secretary of the Bengaluru Urban District Chess Association reflects her commitment to community engagement and promoting strategic thinking.

In her free time, Vidya enjoys reading, traveling, and advocating for chess, which reflects her love for learning and community engagement.

Charutha began her professional journey at CMCA, where she found her passion for coordinating witha variety of stakeholders and engaging with fellow CMCA members. She thrives in a dynamic,collaborative environment, relishing the opportunity to connect with diverse groups and contribute tomeaningful initiatives that promote civic awareness.

Outside of work, Charutha is an avid learner, constantly exploring new hobbies such as pottery,painting, and crafts, as well as embracing her skills in fixing and flipping items. A sports enthusiast,she has a deep love for football, archery, and riding, reflecting her adventurous spirit and commitmentto staying active.

At CMCA, Sonu Sonu helps develop curriculum and creates engaging educational programs that make a difference in students’ lives. He brings a blend of academic knowledge and hands-on experience to his work, ensuring that the programs are both practical and impactful.

Before joining CMCA, Sonu worked as a Project Associate at Sahapaadi, a non-profit organization in Kerala. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Politics from the Central University of Kerala and a second Master’s in Education with a focus on Social Studies Education from Azim Premji University. Outside of work, Sonu loves singing and capturing moments through phone photography.

Executive, Human Resource, Bengaluru

Karthik focuses on recruiting new team members and creating employee engagement programs that bring everyone at CMCA together and support their growth.

With nine years of work experience, including over three years in HR, Karthik started out supporting the field team with employee engagement, which sparked his interest in building positive workplace experiences. In his free time, he enjoys working on bike modifications and playing indoor games.

Assistant Manager, Content Development. Madurai

Muthukumar currently plays a vital role at CMCA, where he develops content for various programs like the Magic Box, HCAP, and Catalyze. His work helps make these initiatives engaging and impactful for the community.

Before joining CMCA, Muthukumar began his career as a PHP developer in 2006. He then moved into education in 2007, working as a Lecturer and Training and Placement Officer at several engineering colleges. Alongside teaching, he freelanced in the field of web development and content creation, honing his digital skills. In his free time, Muthukumar enjoys gardening, playing cricket, doing social work, and drawing.

Bhramarambika currently creates content and delivers training at CMCA. Before this, she worked as a consultant, specializing in content translations and leading ‘Catalyse’ training sessions. For the past five years, she has guided secondary school and college students in their academic and career choices.

In her spare time, Bhramarambika loves singing and dancing, activities that bring her joy and help her maintain balance in life.

Specialist/Advisor: Planning, MEL, & Program Strategy

Dr. Manjunath is an essential part of CMCA, where he shapes program strategies and supports the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) efforts. He has been with CMCA since it started in 2000, helping to create its programs in collaboration with the Public Affairs Centre and Swabhimana.

Previously, Dr. Manjunath held several roles, including Head of Citizen Action Support at the Public Affairs Centre and Director of CMCA India. He also worked as Chief Program Officer at the Public Affairs Centre and as an Evaluation Specialist at SELCO Foundation. In addition to his current work as an Evaluation Specialist at Quest Alliance, he supervises theses at the Institute for Housing & Urban Development Studies. In his free time, he enjoys music, trekking, and hiking.

Prasannakumara’s experience at CMCA has been a deeply rewarding journey that started from his role as an associate and has evolved into a fulfilling engagement. He loves engaging with children and helping them learn through various educational programs, finding fulfilment in their growth and development. His teamwork and willingness to share ideas contribute to creating meaningful initiatives at CMCA.

In his free time, Prasannakumara enjoys playing cricket, volleyball, and chess, as well as cooking. These activities bring him joy and balance in his life outside of work.

Ramya manages app operations and oversees club programs at CMCA. With five years at the organization, she started as the Program Lead for Bengaluru Private. During the lockdown, she stepped up as the Program Lead for Campus Yuva and online programs, finding new ways to support remote education.

Before joining CMCA, Ramya spent four years in corporate HR and taught in schools for ten years. Outside of work, she loves nature walks, gardening, spending time with her pets, cooking, and travelling.

Senior Program Officer, Chikkamagaluru Programs

Ravikumar is the Senior Program Officer for the Chikkamagaluru program at CMCA. Before joining CMCA, he worked as the District Nodal Officer for the District Disability Rehabilitation program in Bengaluru rural, which was managed by Bengaluru Baptist Hospital. He also has experience as a Program Officer for an Organic Agriculture project at BAIF Rural Development Organization.

Outside of work, Ravikumar enjoys reading newspapers and novels. He is also a big fan of cricket, both playing and watching the sport in his free time.

Stuti leads CMCA’s Clubs Program for private schools across Bengaluru, working closely with schools and volunteers to keep CMCA’s club sessions running smoothly. She builds strong connections with schools and helps make sure the program’s activities are meaningful and engaging for students.

Before joining CMCA, Stuti worked as a Research Assistant in Public Policy at IIMB, supporting projects that shaped public policy. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, watching movies, and bird-watching.

Suneetha has been with CMCA for over a decade, starting as an Admin Associate and now taking on a key role in Program Management. She actively plans, monitors, and manages the Library and Department of Minorities Mentor Program, drawing on her experience and commitment to support CMCA’s work with young people.

Outside work, Suneetha enjoys practising yoga, reading, and spending time on arts and crafts, finding creativity and calm in these activities.

In her free time, Shilpa loves dancing, singing, and reading. She also enjoys writing poems, drawing, bike riding, and travelling, finding joy and inspiration in her creative pursuits.

Shirin has been with CMCA for over 11 years, focusing on building strong partnerships and collaborations. In her current role, she works closely with organizations and communities to support CMCA’s mission of empowering young citizens. With years of experience, she continues to create meaningful connections that help expand CMCA’s impact.

Outside of work, Shirin enjoys listening to music, spending time in her garden, and going on treks.

Assistant Manager, Hosur Programs and HCAP Program, Hosur

At CMCA, David oversees programs focused on building relationships with government bodies, public relations, and civic education in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Previously, he investigated custodial deaths and human rights issues with People’s Watch in Madurai and helped coordinate UNICEF’s audit of the “Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act” in Krishnagiri District. David also managed health programs in 86 villages and worked with the Vizhithugal Social Education and Development Trust and Ganga Medical Center & Hospitals.

David is passionate about making a positive impact through his work. In his free time, he enjoys playing various musical instruments, choreography, riding, gospel music, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

Program Officer, Hosur Programs

Madhappan brings years of hands-on experience in community initiatives. Before joining CMCA, he coordinated projects with UNICEF on education and water sanitation and led adolescent development programs at ARCOD NGO. His background also includes child protection work through the Child Helpline, where he spent five years ensuring children’s safety and welfare.

In his free time, Madhappan enjoys playing cricket, a passion he brings to his role with a strong team spirit and commitment to making a difference.

Mohandass leads CMCA’s programs in Cuddalore and Chennai, while also managing government relations for all programs across Tamil Nadu. Before joining CMCA, he worked as a Cluster Coordinator on the post-Tsunami Sustainable Livelihoods Program, where he supported local community development efforts.

In his free time, Mohandass enjoys watching cricket and movies and has recently begun exploring the world of reading.

With over a decade of experience as a freelance trainer, Bhavani has conducted transformative sessions for various organizations, making a lasting impact in the field of education.

In her free time, she is passionate about reading and writing articles, as well as sharing motivational talks that resonate with audiences on multiple YouTube channels, allowing her to inspire a broader community.
